My view this morning.

This was about 4 feet in front of my living room window this morning. I just sat and watched them pick the tiny apples off my tiny tree until I remembered I own a camera. I got 37 shots before they left me.
These are a few of my favorite's.

Very cool. What kind of birds are those?

They're late! Ususally those berries go around New Year's don't they?
Can't wait to come home this weekend!!

They're Bohemian Waxwings and they're DRUNK!! (The sugars in the fruits ferment in the fall and by the time the birds eat them in the winter they've a reasonable alcohol content -or so I've heard anyway.)

They go for the Rowans on our streets, here, too. I swear there are 500 birds in one flock, it's 100% insanity. And beautiful.

I always called them Cedar Waxwings, but what the hey, I'm not going to argue with a science degree. Besides I just googled both and Chair is correct, I'm wrong. Steph, they are late and they haven't touched the trees in the back yard yet. Now get back to your books.

They've caught on to the alcohol content, maybe they are waiting to see if they'll ferment more...

Drunkies!
